Storm Force 10
23rd January 2022
On Sunday the 23rd of January, members of staff at Bosence Drug & Alcohol treatment will be taking part in the ‘Storm Force 10’ – a 10-mile road race starting from Camborne School & Community, passing through Leedstown and Praze.
Those taking part will be raising sponsorship monies which will be used to purchase new exercise equipment for our clients to make use of. The beneficial effects of exercise for those in recovery are well documented and include: a reduction in stress, better sleep, improved mood, a stronger immune system and increased energy. Several studies have also found that regular exercise can prevent relapse by effectively managing depression and anxiety through structure and routine.
The exercise equipment purchased will depend on the fund raised, however we are hoping to raise enough to include the purchase a running machine which will be particularly useful during the winter months.
We are hoping to that as many staff members, board members and friends and family of staff take part as possible. If you are interested in taking part, please email: who will be able to provide you with details of how to enter. You will also be provided with the necessary sponsorship forms and we hope to have an electronic link set up soon.
There are currently 450 entries from a maximum of 900 (16/11/21), so if you’d like to take part it is advisable to enter sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!
If you aren’t a regular runner or haven’t run for some time, please don’t let this put you off. The event is suitable for all age group and abilities, and with several months to go there is still plenty of time to train.
