Who are our treatment programmes for?

We provide treatment to men and women over the age of 17 across the organisation. We accept applications from both private and funded individuals from a range of different backgrounds.
Our programmes are suitable for individuals seeking an abstinence-based residential treatment programme to achieve lasting recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.

How can I access treatment at Bosence?

If you have made the decision to seek treatment at any of our services, the process for making a referral is straight forward and requires you only to complete a very short application form. You can click here to download a copy.

How long do our treatment programmes last for?

We offer a variety of treatment options to meet your individual need. Our detoxification programme is typically 2 to 4 weeks in duration, while our post detoxification residential rehabilitation programme may be between 6 to 24 weeks.

What opportunities are available?

We delivered a structured daily treatment programme at each of our services which includes: Individual key working sessions, group therapy, assignments and workshops.
We have established links with several local organisations, enabling us to provide you with opportunities to gain new skills and interests, as well as to access training and education. We can also support you to attend community recovery groups such as NA/AA and SMART Recovery.
There are visits to local attractions and places of interest. Our spacious 22 acres grounds allow us to offer a diverse range of on-site activities including:

  • Complimentary Therapies: Mindfulness, Auricular Acupuncture, Yoga and Tai-Chi.
  • DIY, arts & crafts, pottery gardening & music workshops.
  • A horticulture project to support and promote enjoyment of the surrounding environment, with weekly educational sessions.
  • A sensory garden and woodland walk.
  • A volunteer project where volunteers from the local community, along with ex-residents, provide mentoring through a range of projects.
Do you provide treatment for under 18’s?

In 2017 we opened our Young Person’s treatment facility, offering a highly specialised, bespoke treatment programme for young people 15 years of age and over.

Due to the Covid pandemic we took the decision to temporarily close the facility, which has been re-purposed to provide quarantine for Adult clients beginning a programme of Inpatient Detoxification. We hope to once again re-open the service to offer a young person’s specific programme, however it will likely be sometime before we are able to do so. Any relevant announcements regarding the situation will be made through the news section of our website.

In the interim period we are able provide a treatment programme to young people aged 17 and over. Within our team we have members of staff who are experienced in working with young people, including several individuals who previously delivered our young persons programme. We can at present offer a bespoke treatment package tailored to the needs of a young person, addressing needs that may include:

  • Health & wellbeing.
  • Social functioning.
  • Addictive behaviours.
  • Mental health.
  • Childhood traumas.
  • Risk Taking Behaviour.

If you would like to discuss the possible of placing a young person at Bosence, please contact our admission team on (01736) 850006 or email: . If you would prefer, you can also make contact through the live chat feature of this website by clicking on the icon at the bottom left of the home page.

Is there on-going support available when I’ve completed treatment?

We provide support to help you identify sources of on-going help once you have completed your treatment at Bosence. This may include on-going engagement with AA, NA, CA and SMART Recovery.

You may also engage with a post treatment community residential programme, provided by your drug and alcohol community team in your local area.

We also offer weekly zoom aftercare sessions for a period of 6 months after you’ve completed treatment. These sessions take place via zoom every Tuesday afternoon and are facilitated by our counselling team. At any point in the future you are encouraged to call.

Will I have my own room?

We offer single room accommodation at both our Inpatient Detoxification and Residential Rehabilitation services. The rooms at Bosence Detoxification & Stabilisation are single en-suite throughout. The rooms at Bosence Rehabilitation are single, with private communal bathroom and shower facilities.
