A range of treatment options

Recognising that you have a problem with drugs or alcohol takes a lot of courage – as does making the decision that you want to change this.

The great news is that there is a huge amount of help and support available for you.  If you want to stop or make changes to how you use, you don’t have to do it on your own.   Looking for help is a huge and very positive step towards your recovery.

There are various treatment options available, which often take place in the community. However, some – like us – are provided in residential settings.  Everyone’s needs are different, and the treatment you choose depends on how much and how long you’ve been using, your health and medical history, and your personal circumstances.

The first step is getting an assessment so that you can talk this through with a drug or alcohol worker.  We can help put you in touch if you don’t already have one, or your GP can arrange this. They will meet with you for a confidential discussion to look at what is the best course of action for you.

You might need medical support to stop drinking, reduce or stop your drug use.  Your drug or alcohol worker will help determine this and will make a referral to our safe, medically-controlled detoxification service. Bosence Detoxification & Stabilisation is a stunning, purpose built unit in a peaceful and tranquil environment, which has been set up and staffed by highly skilled professionals specifically to achieve this. Our facilities are staffed by personnel trained and experienced in the delivery of an effective, evidence based programme.

If you can safely stop by yourself, or with the support available to you locally, the next step is to look at what needs to change to enable you to remain abstinent. Our residential rehabilitation service allows you the time and space to address this, with experienced, specialist support to guide you through it. The structured therapeutic programme will help you explore the root cause of your drug or alcohol problem and equip you with the skills you need to live a healthier life. Once you’ve completed this, we also provide structured after-care – to make sure you stay supported once you leave us, and have someone to talk to who really understands any issues you may face.
